So pretty, so composed…

So pretty and so composed. Just perfect, and as it should be for this senior as the year draws to an end for the Class of 2017.

We took advantage of a late afternoon break between some April rain showers to take these senior photos. And, we made the most of a close-by location with lots of variety including a classic brick wall, some distressed aluminum paneling, a neutral white wall and a great looking shed door surrounded by large beach like pebbles. She kept her outfits casual, relaxed and happy just like her personality. The light was natural, soft and glowing.

There are just a few weeks of senior year left on the calendar. Seniors, have fun with graduation and finishing up high school and all the very best for a wonderful college experience.

Thank you E. You rocked it.  Here are a few of my favorites from our time together.

What a doll…

Just loved photographing this gorgeous girl!  What a doll!  And those eyes… how beautiful are those!

We took advantage of the early spring weather to get out and find some nearby spots in downtown McLean for photographs. Just making the most of our neighborhood kept it so relaxed, so fun.  The quiet alley and old-time loading dock gave us plenty of space and that warm, aged look of shabby chic.  Across the parking lot we used the variety of steps and stairs and green bushes with soft natural afternoon light.

A quick outfit change gave some nice variety but kept it looking casual and urban. I loved hearing about how high school was going, class choices for next year and your growing mastery of spanish!

Thank you G – you’re the best!  Here are a few of my absolute favorites from our time together.

Blossoms and Spring Sweetness

So loved taking these spring time photos. The soft bohemian romantic look was perfect for a late spring evening, softer lighter and blossom filled branches. And she rocked it for sure in that dress.

We had fun trying out this new location and all that it could offer. I loved her enthusiasm and her sense of adventure. The edge of the field has some tall uncut grasses that added to the mood and gave some nice soft contrast.

A nearby gazebo was ideal for escaping the harsh direct sun and enabled us to maximize the ample natural soft reflective light. The gazebo’s frame made a perfect prop for casual sitting, and its wood benches complimented the casual look and relaxed jeans and plaid shirt style.

I can’t wait for the leaves to fill out and the grass to green up just a little bit more. But there’s not long to wait — a little over a month until Memorial Day weekend and summer will here!

Thank you sweet R. — you are gorgeous both inside and out!  These are a few of my absolute favorites from our time together.

That Smile!

Absolutely adored photographing this teen girl.  She glowed with energy and radiance, and without doubt has the cutest of winning smiles.  I loved her enthusiasm, and her spirit never wavered all afternoon long as we chased some pretty light and tried out a few different locations. We chatted about this and that, capture some great looks,  and soon it was time for her soccer practice and back to a busy teen day.

The longer lighter spring days and warmer weather are perfect for making the most of beautiful natural light.  And, finding fun locations that appeal to a teen help to keep the photos fresh, natural and vibrant.

Spring is a great time for photographing outside. Blossoms and buds are flowering, leaves are opening up and filling out trees and bushes, and everything looks alive.

Keeping it fun, relaxed and happy always.

Thank you J. – here are a few of my absolute favorites from your photo shoot.

So natural, so lovely

I loved chatting and getting to know this gorgeous couple.  They are so ready for adventure and a great life together. It was fun hearing about their plans and what’s around the corner for them. A pond and some nearby trees gave us a pretty winter setting to take these casual photos and let their natural good looks shine.

Togetherness

Love this bridge for these winter photographs. It’s just enough off the beaten path, making it a perfect location for this family when they were all together recently. These guys totally know how to make the most of their time together. Underneath the joking and jesting, it looks like there’s a lot of fun, love, respect, support and tolerance for each other. The best kind of family.

You can never have too many family photos! And, perhaps that’s especially true for families in transition with kids at home, kids at college and kids out in the “real world.” Those moments of togetherness are sometimes fleeting and so precious. College schedules, job demands and new pursuits will always need our attention, so celebrating togetherness whenever you have the chance just makes sense.

Thank you family S – here are a few of my favorites from our time together.

Teens are the best!

Kudos to these three teens ~ it might have been more than a wee bit on the chilly side when we took these pics but they kept smiling till the very last shot. I loved photographing them – the sibling bond and love is so strong but each of them is their very own distinct personality and so fun to chat with. After we played with some different ideas, it wasn’t too hard to get grandma to join in the fun and we even twisted mom & dad’s arms to be in a few too.

Love this front door and porch. It was perfect for some fun informal photos when time was of the essence. And, helping clients get what they need when they need it is always a good feeling.

Thank you B family ~ here are a few of my favorites from our time together. Enjoy.
