Break a leg!
She just left for college, so excited and ready for all the new adventures, experiences and opportunities! How fun to be a freshman theater student with your whole life ahead of you, the world at your feet and anything is possible.
I loved photographing and chatting with this budding improv actor before she headed out of town. Such wit and wisdom! Her roomies and Northwestern sure are lucky to get this funny, smart girl.
Our session together has her armed with some fresh, relevant portfolio head shots as well as some oh-so-sweet pics for her parents to savor while she’s gone.

A glimpse of summer…
This nearby field of buttercups has been bursting with bright yellow beauty for a few days now. Just begging to be photographed each time I pass it! It wasn’t so hard to persuade these two buddies to come with me after school to explore. Friends since pre-school, they always have fun together.
We stayed just long enough for them to let their hair down, soak up the bright yellow light and catch a glimpse of summer. Soon we were out of time and the girls headed off to dance practice and home work.
With only 36 days of school left on the calendar that glimpse of summer is just going to get bigger!

Keeping it Fun on Main Street
I am a big believer in making the most of things and seizing the day. As one of my good friends often reminds me, “Don’t wait for a perfect time, there are no guarantees.”
So true! Life is here and now, and this ain’t no dress rehearsal!
Spring break in Utah this past week found us spending time on Main Street, Park City. Boutiques, cafes and restaurants abound; there are no bad choices. We had a blast hanging out, knowing that all too soon we would be leaving the fresh air and breathtaking mountains and returning to routines and responsibilities.
Finding a fun location is key with teens, especially for those who don’t want a formal photoshoot. And when shopping and lunch are involved, everyone ends up happy 🙂

Brrrr…. it’s still winter!
All bundled up for the end of a winter photo shoot and snow starts to fall! Just looking at that cherry red coat makes me feel warmer! And, I’m loving the hand-knitted old time scarf to keep the cold winds out!
The second semester has just started but I’m pretty sure the next few months will fly by for P and it’ll be her high school graduation before we all know it. It may still be February for another few weeks, but March and April will soon be here and we’ll be just that little bit closer to spring flowers, warmer days… and fewer coats and scarves!

Free Spirit n’ Sunshine
Free spirit n’ sunshine… this was a late afternoon shoot just before the sun dipped down below the neighboring trees and houses. Warm enough to lose the coat and practice some leaps and twirls before the end of the day. I’m loving S’s wavy hair and boho top. And then there’s the joy on her face. Life is all about seizing the moment and making the most of the day.
